Yes, there are penalties for overdue and lost items.
Overdue reminder notices are mailed to library customers. If the items are not returned within 24 days of the due date you will be charged a $10 late fee per item.
In the event of an item being lost the replacement cost plus GST and a $10 processing fee is applied to your library account.
You will not be able to borrow from the library if you have outstanding books or fines. Further, you will not receive your results, certificate, or transcript until all items are returned or paid for and all penalites are paid.
In special circumstances, customers may lodge an appeal against fines.
